Special Delivery

Texas is critter country. Yesterday afternoon when I opened the mailbox I noticed a little bat lying on top of it. I thought it was sick or dying, but when I touched it lightly with a broom it woke up, looked directly at me, screamed some very high-pitched screams at me, and flew off toward the south. I've never been face to face with a bat before.

Apparently, a bat in the house is considered to be good luck in China. I hope that it will be in my case as well.
