600 Pounds of Radio Fun
Some worthy soul has posted the recordings of Orson Welles's 1938-40 radio program, The Mercury Theatre (the show is most famous for broadcasting "The War of the Worlds"). I'm especially looking forward to listening to "The Man who Was Thursday," a dramatization of the G.K. Chesterton novel, but I'm reading it right now (a birthday present from my lovely wife) and don't want to spoil the surprise. Such a clash of heavyweights, artistic and otherwise (Welles and Chesterton both weighed as much as 300 pounds), is bound to be good.
Also, the site says that Bernard Herrmann did the music on at least some of the episodes. I wonder which ones?
